Day 48: Youth group!

This picture is of the kids from CUMC's youth group. Since I am leading the youth band now, I get to be a part of the youth group. I love the kids, they are really great. I am so grateful that I am able to be a part of that and be a mentor to these kids who have more potential then they truly know.

Verse of the day:

"Show me, Lord, my life's end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting my life is."
Psalm 39:4

Life is short no matter how long we live. If there is something important we want to do, we must not put it off for a better day. Ask yourself, "If I had only six months to live, what would I do?" Tell someone that you love him or her? Deal with an undisciplined area in your life? Tell someone about Jesus? Because life is short, don't neglect what is truly important.

Day 47: Fun day

Today was a great. I woke up and went to youth band rehearsal. After rehearsal, I went to lunch with Vickie, Dillon, and Robert at Chili's. Then I went a hung out with Vickie at Dwayne and Susan's, and we headed off to a photoshoot Vickie had to do. I went with her. I took this picture while we were at the beach doing the photoshoot. The photoshoot was fun. I learn so much from Vickie and her style of photography. I love it. When we finished, we headed back to Dwayne's to say good night to Anna Grace and Will. Great day!

Verse of the day:

"Do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong"
Psalm 37:1

We should never envy evil people, even though some may be extremely popular or excessively rich. No matter how much they have, it will fade and vanish like grass that withers and dies. Those who follow God live differently from the wicked and, in the end, will have far greater treasures in heaven. What the unbeliever gets may last a lifetime, if he is lucky. What you get from following God lasts forever.

Day 46: Coloring is fun!

He is my buddy. I love him. I know I have taken a lot of pictures of the boys, but they are a big part of my life right now. This morning he was coloring. I think he is going to be left handed. He gets so excited when I get the crayons and ask him if he wants to color.

Maybe he'll be an artist when he grows up!

"But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations."
Psalm 33:11

God is completely trustworthy-his intentions never change. There is a promise that good and perfect gifts come to us from the Creator who never changes. When you wonder if there is anyone in whom you can trust, remember that God is completely consistent. Let him counsel you, and trust in his plans for your life.

Day 45: it's a Snooki thing!

I found this book in walmart today. How funny. I still have people coming up to me in church and calling me Snookie and asking me if I really talk the way I did in the Christmas show. Too funny.

Verse of the day:
"I acknowledged my sin unto thee"
Psalm 32:5

To confess our sin is to agree with God, acknowledging that he is right to declare what we have done as sinful, and that we are wrong to desire or to do it. It is to affirm our intention of abandoning that sin in order to follow him more faithfully.

Day 44: Friendships

Today I met Merritt and we went for a walk on the beach for some girl time together which we rarely get. It was great, we spent some time just talking and venting back and forth. I love time like that together and I am so thankful for relationships like that when we get time to bond. The beach was so great tonight too. I seriously cannot wait for summer. After our walk, I went to lifegroup at Sarah's house since I was off of worship this week. Our bible study was on James chapter 4. Some great stuff.

Verse of the day:

"The friendship of Jehovah is with them that fear him"
Psalm 25:14

"The LORD is a friend to those who fear him." God offers intimate and lasting friendship to those who revere him, who hold him in highest honor. What relationship could ever compare with having the Lord of all creation for a friend? Your everlasting friendship with God will grow as you revere him.

Day 43: The Beach.

I went down to the beach today and took some pictures. It is getting warmer and warmer every week and it's great. I cannot wait for summer!

Verse of the day;

"Show me thy ways, O Jehovah"
Psalm 25:4

David expressed his desire for guidance. How do we receive God's guidance? The first step is to want to be guided and to realize that God's primary guidance system is in his Word, the Bible. By reading it and constantly learning from it, we will gain the wisdom to perceive God's direction for our lives. We may be tempted to demand answers from God, but David asked for direction. When we are willing to seek God, learn from his Word, and obey his commands, then will we receive his specific guidance.

Day 42: YOU Choose

The last couple weeks at church, Pastor has done a sermon series called "You Choose". It has been eye opening for many of us. The sermons have been so good, like really really good. His first one was on, "You choose your happiness". It reflected on that fact that "Your circumstances do not determine your happiness". That was such a big one for me to grasp with everything going on for me. Anyways, if you get some time, you really should check out some of these, they will rock your world.

Verse of the day:

"A seed shall serve him; They shall come and shall declare his righteousness"
Psalm 22:30-31

We must serve God and share His love with the world!

Day 41: 1, 2, 3, 4...I declare a prank war...

This morning I got up to receive a phone call from a certain someone named Vickie, whose car got pranked last night. She assumed it was me, because of my previous post it note prank on her car a couple weeks ago. This time it wasn't me. We both had to be at church early so I had to go past her house, take pictures for her (she didn't have her camera at that moment) and help her clean off her car before church. Talk about time, there seriously was at least 1,000 post it's on that car. Craziness but it was funny. Who ever did this better watch out...I think Vickie is coming back! haha

Verse of the day:
"Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart"
Psalm 19:14

Would you change the way you live if you knew that every word and thought would be examined by God first? David asks that God approve his words and thoughts as though they were offerings brought to the altar. As you begin each day, determine that God's love will guide what you say and how you think. Words are so powerful if you really think about it. We are blessed from God's word and the way He teaches us through it. Words can make or break a situation as well. Choose your words.

Day 40: A man and his best friend.

So today, I went and shot some videos for a couple of Staci's volleyball girls to make recruitment videos. Brandon brought their new little puppy along. The puppy was a gift from Staci to Brandon for Christmas. His name is Fender and he's an awesome puppy and too cute.

"There is no speech nor language; Their line is gone out through all the earth"
Psalm 19:3-4

The apostle Paul referred to this psalm when he explained that everyone knows about God because nature proclaims God's existence and power. This does not cancel the need for missions because the message of God's salvation found in his Word, the Bible, must still be told to the ends of the earth. While nature points to the existence of God, the Bible tells us about salvation. God's people must explain to others how they can have a relationship with God. Although people everywhere should already believe in a Creator by just looking at the evidence of nature around them, God needs us to explain his love, mercy, and grace. What are you doing to take God's message to the world?

Day 39: Brotherly Love

The boys are at such a funny age right now. All cameron wants to do is be all over Trystin and all Trystin does is hug and kiss Cameron. Trystin can say Cameron's name which is cute but it comes out as "Camera". I hope they stay like this forever.

"Jehovah is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; I will call upon Jehovah, who is worthy to be praised"
Psalm 18:2-3

God's protection of his people is limitless and can take many forms. David characterized God's care with five military symbols. God is like (1) a rock that can't be moved by any who would harm us, (2) a fortress or place of safety where the enemy can't follow, (3) a shield that comes between us and harm, (4) a horn of salvation-a symbol of might and power, and (5) a stronghold high above our enemies. If you need protection, look to God.

Day 38: A night with baby Josh

Tonight I babysat for baby Josh. He was so good. He is such a happy baby which made me happy too. After about an hour or so, he fell asleep in my arms. He was so awesome. I hope my baby one day is as good as Josh is!

"Keep me as the apple of the eye"
Psalm 17:8

We must never miss God's protection over us if we get into times of trouble. God's protection has far greater purpose for us than helping us avoid pain. God uses all thing to work together for OUR GOOD. We must never forget that even if it is a painful circumstance.

Day 37: The sky is the limit.

God paints us a picture every single day...morning and night. Sunrise to sunset. Take a minute and grasp the moments that God shows us through His power.

"Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth;"
Psalm 16:9

David's heart was glad-he had found the secret to joy. True joy is far deeper than happiness; we can feel joy in spite of our deepest troubles. Happiness is temporary because it is based on external circumstances, but joy is lasting because it is based on God's presence within us. As we contemplate his daily presence, we will find contentment. As we understand the future he has for us, we will experience joy. Don't base your life on circumstances, but on God.

Day 36: Fun in the sun!

These pictures come from me and Janay. We were hanging at the church and got bored so we went outside and took these pictures. Super fun and they came out pretty good.

"I will bless Jehovah, who hath given me counsel;8 I have set Jehovah always before me, Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth;"
Psalm 16:7-9

Sometimes we think we can fit our wants into God's will for us, instead we should pray and seek God's will for us first. Seeking and asking God, allows Him to cousel us and give us wisdom.

Day 35: Dance, dance like it's the last, last night of your life....

Today, was a good day. Tired from the superbowl party which was a blast. Today I taught a couple drum lessons and then had Big House rehearsal and after rehearsal is when Alexis was teaching Heather how to correctly do a leap in ballet and then I taught her one of our drum grooves from Noiz. These were pictures from her lessons....I even attached a video :)

Verse of the day:

"Because of the oppression of the poor, because of the sighing of the needy, The words of Jehovah are pure words;"
Psalm 13:5-6

David trusted God with all of his heart and in the hard times he did feel the pressure of his problems as much as anyone would but David held on to his faith. In our troubles and trials, it in much harder to hold on that to give up but if you give up, you give in to a life of despair. FAITH

Day 34: and the Steelers blow it...

Today was a great day! Big House rocked at church and 3rd service was great too. Then of course, tonight was the superbowl. I was kind of going for the Steelers, but they blew it. Anyways, it was a truly great day. I had lunch with the Flanigan crew and then for the superbowl, I was at the Wiseman's house with all the youth kids from church. I love the youth kids, they are so awesome. About halfway through the superbowl, the girls got bored and decided that they were going to prank one of the boys' cars. To get out of the house without the boys noticing, they decided to climb on the roof, so that's where this picture comes in! While we were on the Roof, Vickie showed up. It was hilarious. hah they are so funny. I love them! It was a great day, thank you God for the time together!

Verse of the day:

"The words of Jehovah are pure words;"
Psalm 12:6

Listen carefully when God speaks. His words are always filled with sincere truth, and they are flawless, and extremely valuable!

Day 33: The big apple...

I miss New York. I am a little homesick. I miss it, I miss family, friends, memories, good times....I know I can't dwell on the past, I just miss it. I have moments where I want to just run up there, but I have to embrace everything I am here in SC. I was listening to this song by Adele and it just reminded me of everything up there and everything I had there. It's called "Hometown Glory".
I love NY, and miss it.

Verse of the day:

"Jehovah is in his holy temple;"
Psalm 11:4

We all go through trails, temptations, hard times, and struggles but when we get to that point where all we want to do is let it go and hide, we have to remember that God is still in control. Don't run away; run to God. Hi power is NEVER diminished! He will restore and bring justice, in His good time.

Day 32: Music from my heart...

This picture is a shot of an envelope I have been carrying around with me. Every time I get an idea, phrase, word, that I like, I write it down. I've been trying to write a song and these are all my ideas and words/lyrics thrown down on an envelope. But I think i have come up with the title..."To be Your hands and feet" or "Grow me up". Which one?

"Have mercy upon me, O Jehovah; That I may show forth all thy praise."
Psalm 9:13-14

A lot of the time, we ask God for help. We ask Him in many situations but what is our motive? David asked God for help so that justice would be restored to Israel, and so he could show God's power to others. Are you asking God to save yourself, or to bring Him glory?

Day 31: Cars, Trains, and Planes...A Boy's Life.

It's so crazy to see how much the boys have grown. I feel like they were JUST born. Trystin will be 2 years old already in August. Today I came home and played with Trystin and his trains. Boy he loves trains. It's crazy to watch toddlers and how their

minds work.
I often think about how they process things and what they really think. They are so smart. Trystin is like a sponge and he is at the point now where he repeats everything he hears. He's learning how to speak, how to say certain words, how to count, what the different shapes are, colors, and even animals. Trystin always puts a smile on my face. I miss him when he isn't with us and he always reminds me of child-like faith, to just be yourself and well have not a worry in the world.

Verse of the day...
"Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou established strength"
Psalm 8:2

As we get older, we find it harder to ask God, pray, and have faith in Him. Ask God to have that "child-like" faith and to remove any barriers you may have, to have a closer walk with God. We should all be reminded of this child-like quality so we can be more expressive and draw closer to Him.

Day 30: Something to say...

This is a picture of our poster and CD cover for the Coastal Steel Band CD. The title of the CD is "Something to say-from the neck down". Kurry ALWAYS told us to play with all of our heart and soul, and from the neck down. Meaning this...people take things so seriously and literal that sometimes you just have to let it go and and pull from your soul. That can be applied in everything. Kurry is such an encourager. He always told us that balloons were one of his favorite things because it reminded him of what his Dad used to tell him. "A balloon can take you where ever you want to go." The sky is the limit. I have so many memories of steel band, the percussion department and school in general but I will always remember the things I learned from Kurry. He has taught me, not only to spread the love, but to dissolve your inhibitions, you only live once. I am so thankful for all the opportunities and memories that were created because of Kurry and I know I am not the only one who feels this way too. We are all super thankful for all the awesome things he taught us, for the encouragement, for the strength in hard times, and for the "family" we have.

Verse of the day...

"I will thank the Lord because he is just; I will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High."
Psalm 7:17

Thank God every day for all of the blessings He has given us. Be grateful because God is righteous. David believed and so should we. We should include God in ALL our activities and events in our lives and in doing so, God will bring justice. Be thankful.

Thursday, February 24, 2011

Day 29: Nikon is only the best...

I am so in love with my camera. I take it with me every day, every where, all the time. Pictures to me are so important. They show time, memories, past, present, changes, and more importantly...growth. Nothing like it :)

"End the evil of those who are wicked, and defend the righteous. For you look deep within the mind and heart, O righteous God."
Psalm 7:9

We can hide nothing from God. He knows everything about us..our motives, everything. We don't have to impress God with the things we do or put up a false front. BUT we should trust God to help us through our weaknesses in order to serve him as He planned. He will then reward us for our efforts.

Day 28: New Beginnings...

"Every story has an ending, but in life, endings are just beginnings."

This quote is from the movie Uptown Girls. In life we all have our "seasons". Seasons with tough times, seasons with our lives, seasons with where we are going and even seasons with relationships. I believe that God allows certain things to happen for our growth. He is an overcomer! He makes all things work together for our good. I chose to take this picture of a bud of a flower because it reminded me that with the old, comes the new and even in times that we have no idea what we are doing, or where we are going, or maybe even our purpose, we always have to remember that God is in CONTROL! He's got it, we just have to have the courage to give it all to him.

"You can be sure of this: The Lord set apart the godly for himself. The Lord will answer when I call to him."
Psalm 4:3

The godly are those who are faithful and devoted to God. Sometimes we may think that God doesn't hear our prayers because we have fallen short of His high standards. He has forgiven us and will listen to us. He hears and He will answer our prayers. It may not be what we expect always, but look at your problems in the light of God's power instead of looking at God in the shadow of your probems.

Day 27: Nenna

This is a picture of McKenna that I took today. After church, I had lunch with a lot of my church family :) I had my camera with me, but out of the 40 or so pictures that were taken, I only took about 3. One of which, was this one. The rest of the pictures McKenna took. He is my little photographer in training. I think he loves taking pictures with my camera as much as I do. I love him. A boy after my own heart. Loves music, drums, dance, and now photography almost as much as I do :)

"Serve the LORD with fear and celebrate his rule with trembling. Kiss his son, or he will be angry and your way will lead to your destruction, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.."
Psalm 2:11-12

We must surrender fully and obey God. He is the rightful King of our hearts and lives.

Day 26: Not so smart...

Yesterday, I made some bad decisions which turned into me hurting my hand really bad. I pretty much bruised all of my knuckles, especially my ring finger. Sometimes we can get off track, but God is sitting right there, waiting for us to come to Him to pull us back on. We need to choose where our focus is. We need to choose our perspective. We need to choose our happiness.

"For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ"
Romans 5:17

God knows just what to do in order to "fix" our messes and mistakes. He takes all of our things we mess up and uses them for good. Because of Him, we have hope no matter what we have done. "We may have made a mess out of genesis, but He "fixed" our mistakes with a triumphant revelation."

Day 25: Tension is good.

So with everything going on...I was quickly reminded of everything learned from the Catalyst Conference in October. Tension is good, that was the whole theme. I went back and read through a lot of the things I brought back from Catalyst and all of the notes I took during the conference.

‎"Tension within a team pushes them to better perspectives and deeper relationships, Tension is absolutely required if you want to have an authentic faith. It is critical if you hope to engage in God's story of restoration and redemption. Tension compels us to respond to a higher calling. Tension helps us face our doubts. Tension challenges who we think we are. Tension prepares us to live our lives with a deeper message as a part of a bigger story. Tension in a family provides an opportunity to demonstrate commitment and unconditional love. Tension is good."

Embrace it.

Verse of the day...

"Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night."
Psalm 1:1-2

Our friends and even some family members, can have a huge influence on what we do and the things we choose. Think about it, true friends should help you draw closer to God, not hinder your relationship with Him.

Day 24: Eye Watch

This is a picture of my eye. Eyes to me are mesmerizing. I am so thankful for my sight. I am so thankful for the ability to see. It's amazing to try and figure out everything God has created with such detail and how. Everything has a purpose. God created the world. God is amazing and I cannot even fathom the size of God and his capabilities to overcome all things. Thank you God for the world and everything you created within it, down to the amazing sunsets that you paint every single night. Thank you for creating each one of us, individually as humans, with different gifts and talents, only to do your will and to bring glory to your wonderful name. Thank you for who you are, and for everything you do for us. Thank you for your unfailing love.

"But who can teach a lesson to God, since He judges even the most powerful?"
Job 21:22

The way we respond to our daily struggles, shows our attitude towards God. Rather than becoming angry, turn to Him and trust Him in all situations. Although it may be difficult to see, God IS IN CONTROL.

Day 23: Worship=My Life

This right here is my life. GOD, God's House, Church Family, Worship, Music. Period. If I could do this everyday, all day long, I would. It's my love, my life, and everything I want...and truthfully, all I need. Theses pictures were from praise band rehearsal. Brandon was playing bass...I wanted a side perspective, a little clip, of what it looks like.

This doesn't do a justice, but it's my love, my life.

"If I have sinned, what have I done to you, O watcher of all humanity? Why make me your target? Am I a burden to you?'
Job 7:20

Job referred to God as a "watcher". We must never forget that God DOES watch over everything we do, but He does it with compassion and love, He is not our enemy, His eyes are eyes of love. Love God. Love Others.

Wednesday, January 26, 2011

Day 22: Crossroads

I love some random things. They are not in any particular order...

I love God.
I love my friends.
I love my family.
I love sharpies.
I love giving.
I love music.
I love pictures.
I love my camera.
I love my phone.
I love shoes.
I love coffee.
I love mac and cheese.
I love clothes.
I love bracelets.
I love the color blue.
I love dance.
I love worship.
I love one on one time.
I love sweatpants.
I love cake.
I love pasta.
I love shoelaces.
I love movies.
I love more....I'm just tired of listing them hah

This picture is a picture of the shoelaces on my inline skates. I haven't skated in a while. Anyways, I should get on that...

"Satan replied to the Lord "Yes, but Job has good reason to fear God. You have always put a wall of protection around him and his home and his property. You have made him prosper in everything he does Look how rich he is!"
Job 1:9-10

Satan attacked Job's motives saying the Job was blameless and had integrity only because he had no reason to turn against God. Satan wanted to prove that Job worshipped God not out of love but because God had given him so much. Sometimes we only praise God when things are going good, which should not be the case at all. Adversity strengthens our real faith by causing believers to dig their roots deeper into God in order to withstand storms.
It's a choice to rejoice!
Choose!

Day 21: Jesus

This is a bracelet I have. I love it, and it is a constant reminder everyday of just who I'm living for. No matter what the day brings, no matter what I'm going through, I am living for Him. He will use all things for the goodness of my heart, and He will carry me through it all.

"He said 'Listen all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Listen King Jehoshaphat! This is what the Lord says: Do not be afraid! Don't be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God's."
2 Chronicles 20:15

Every day we battle temptations, and pressure, and Satan. Satan wants us to rebel against God. We need to ask for God's help in all situations, and He will help us fight them. He will fight for us, and God always triumphs!

Day 20: As it was before...

Today is a picture of a picture! This is a picture of me and Malachi over the summer. I miss this boy. I haven't seen him in about 3 weeks or so. When I do see him at church on Sundays, he always comes up to me and hugs me after church, but I have to pick him up so he can lay his head on my shoulder...and then he tells me how much he misses me. Over the summer I was with him constantly, just about every day but then they went back to school and I rarely see them except at church every week. I miss him and his brother McKenna. Malachi is such a sweetheart. He would share all of his possessions with the world if he could. He would give me the shirt off of his back if I needed it. :) Love him.

"then hear from heaven where you love, and forgive. Give your people what their actions deserve, for you alone know each human heart."
2 Chronicles 6:30

Have you felt separated from God ever, separated by feelings of failure and personal problems?Solomon underscored the fact that God stands ready to hear his people, to forgive their sins, and to restore their relationship with Him. Don't wait to experience his love and forgiveness, He is waiting to hear us, and listen. Go to Him.

Day 19: Love

Today, I really didn't do much. I was suppose to go see my cousin that was down in Myrtle Beach with the kids but they got caught up in some stuff and decided that tomorrow would be better to see them. I guess everything happens for a reason...last night, I was pretty bummed after the basketball game and Keeks knew. God knows what situations need to be worked out when and He allows those situations to come about. So tonight I got to spend some time with her and her beautiful nieces and nephew. She had to babysit and apparently Anna Grace wanted me to come over and play princesses with her. She's so cute. That's where the pictures came from. Keeks was giving the girls a bath and I hung out with little Will. He's so cute. We watched the new Shrek movie, and we did eventually play princesses haha. Anna Grace insisted. Anything for her...she is so funny. At one point I looked and not one of the princesses had clothes on and I looked at Anna Grace and said "Anna Grace, why don't they have any clothes on?" and she picked up Ariel from the Little Mermaid and said "Whooaaaa! She's naked!" haha I busted out laughing and then of course Emma came over to see what was so funny and she started to laugh and then Keeks made her way over and we all were laughing....it was contagious. Anyways, good night and thankful for it.

"But will God really live on earth among people? Why, even the highest heavens cannot contain you. How much less this Temple I have built!"
2 Chronicles 6:18

Solomon was astonished that God would be willing to live on this earth among sinful people. We are amazed that God, through His son, Jesus Christ, lived among us in human form to reveal His eternal purposes to us. God was reaching out to us in love. God wants US to reach out to HIM in return to know Him and to love Him with all our hearts. Don't just simply be amazed at who He is, take the time to get to know Him!

Day 18: Basketball

Today, was a good day for the most part. I hung out with Keeks at the salon :) That always keeps a smile on my face. Well tonight I went to the Carolina Forest/Conway rival basketball game. THe biggest rival game in Horry County. It was a great game. It was as intense as sitting at the Coastal games, which was impressive. There was one player on the team that reminded me so much of Steven Sexton from Coastal. It was crazy. Carolina Forest won 80-59 against Conway. They had a scary moment in the game though. The Carolina Forest coach, just about passed out in the middle of game towards half time. I just remember watching the coach about black out as his family ran to see what was up. It was so hot in the gym, it was unbearable. That is a very scary moment for the family. I pray that he is ok. They took him out in the ambulance after the game, since he refused to leave the game during it.

You know those moments you have, when you feel like your heart is in your stomach? There is no bigger and greater word for a kid to hear from someone than "DISAPPOINTMENT". A parent can say I am mad at you, I am furious...I'm upset with you....but there's something about 'disappointment' that just hits you in the gut.....I don't know, I guess just something on my mind.

"The Lord lives! Praise to my rock! May God, the Rock of my salvation, be exalted!"
2 Samuel 22:47

David praises God wholeheartedly. We must praise God in all situations, good and bad! Say thank you to Him! Focus your hearts on Him! Thank Him for his many gracious gifts to us! Thank Him for our relationship with Him!! God, Thank You for who You are and for everything You have given us!

"I will praise You in this storm!"

Day 17: Oldies

I was looking through all the records that my Dad has....memories of listening to all of them when I was little, were just rushing through my brain. It's crazy the way technology has progressed since I was little. A Tracks, to Records, to Tapes, to CDs, now to ipods and mp3 players...soon to be more. Music is my life and I have no idea how I would live my life without it!

"So David reigned over all Israel and did what was just and right for all his people"
2 Samuel 8:15

There is that saying that we all hear when we are little..."Treat others how you want to be treated". David was fair to all of his people including God, and everyone trusted him. If we all respected others and acted the way David did, we would all get along so much better.

Day 16: Light is shining....

The sky tonight was so awesome. There was rain in the distance and the light was shining through the clouds in some spots. That's always a reminder to me, that God shines the light in dark places, and God wants us to go out and shine our light in the darkness too. I didn't have my camera with me today, (go figure) so I threw my phone to the person in the passenger seat and told them to snap a shot. It was a moment I couldn't pass up...

Thank you God, for always giving me constant reminders of who You are and how big You are. I pray that in all circumstances, that we all will shine our light for the world to see, and to do Your will for us, to bring glory to your name.

"But be sure to fear the Lord and faithfully serve Him. Think of all the wonderful things He has done for you."
1 Samuel 12:24

Samuel reminded everyone to take time to remember all of the great things God had done for them. Sometimes we all get so caught up that we fail to take time to reflect on everything God has given us. Reflect on these things and get your focus and attention back on God's goodness.

Day 15: Keith Urban!

So 3 years ago, I played in the drumline for the Keith Urban concert in Charleston, South Carolina. It was probably one of the coolest experiences I have ever had. Well I was cleaning today, and I found my back stage pass from the concert. So that's my pic today! Enjoy!

"And she made this vow "O Lord of Heaven's Armies, if you will look upon my sorrow and answer my prayer and give me a son, then I will give him back to you. He will be yours for his entire lifetime, and as a sign tht he has been dedicated to the Lord, his hair will never be cut."
1 Samuel 1:11

Fear God, He has the power to do anything. Be careful with what you promise to God. Hannah wanted a son so bad that she kind of pleaded with God and He took her up on it. God keeps His promises, keep yours to Him.

Day 14: Snookie!!

This picture.....something that made me smile.
Every time I get in my car, I see this note and it reminds me of the many memories that came from the Taste of Christmas this past year. These post it notes were from the Taste of Christmas, from Vickie. We left each other notes on our mirrors. Good times with great people sharing the love of God! What can be better than that!

Bible verse....
"What do you mean? What's the matter?" Micah replied. "You've taken away all the gods I have made, and my priest, and I have nothing left."
Judges 18:24

Our focus is so important. Sometimes we don't mean to, but we substitute God, with other things like careers, or money and what not. We need to focus on Him at all times, in the good and bad. Protect yourself from those things and focus all you are, on the living God, who we can NEVER lose!

Day 13: Boys!

After church, I came home and spent time with the boys. It's insane how big they are getting already. I feel like Cameron was JUST born and he's already up and trying to walk, following his brother around everywhere.

Trystin had his first excursion with ketchup today, it was pretty funny. Cameron is standing up more and more, he's going to be walking soon. He wants to be like his big brother.

"But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then chose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord."
Joshua 24:15

We have a choice. "Rejoice in the Lord always!" It's so easy to be rebellious and go our own way in life, but we have to choose what will control our lives. Our circumstances do not determine our happiness! That is so huge for me, I have to meditate on that. We choose our perspective, our choices, our happiness, our joy! It's your choice!

Church was good today, the message was great. After church I was listening to this song, it's called "What To Do" by Demi Lovato...and the more I listened to the lyrics in the chorus, the more I felt like...on some days, that's what God looks down and says to me. lol

Chorus Lyrics:
You've got your way of speaking
Even the air you're breathin'
You could be anything
But you don't know what to believe in
You got the world before you
If I could only show you
That you don't know what to do

Tell me what to do, ooh, about you
Is there any way, anything I can say,
Cause it's been a long time comin'
I can't stop lovin' you,
Tell me what to do about you...

During hard times, you will either become bitter or better. It's your choice...
