57/365 Haiti Relief

Today, I was part of the Haiti relief on Coastal's campus. We built over 45 shelters to send to Haiti...which was over 165 sides to build the shelters. It was a really cool opportunity and experience to come together to help others.

54/365 AV Art Class

This is from the little kids art class at Abiding Village tonight. The kids were so cute and working diligently on their self portraits. More pictures to come with what the self portraits actually look like! haha

53/365 True

One day, I am going to gather up ALL of my notebooks I have used, that I still have....and take all of the doodles, art, sketches, pictures, and drawings I have done and put them all together in one big huge pictures frame collage. That would be awesome. This picture is called...."bored in class." hah You can tell what was on my mind.

51/365 Love Waits....

ok so I'm pretty proud of this picture. I have seen this done...but I didn't think I could do it myself. That is my ring and my bible, perfectly set down so the shadow of the ring becomes a heart. The ring says "True Loves Waits". I know what the ring truly stands for, but over the last couple days I have learned that through patience, comfort, prayer, and obedience, true love waits. Not only in marital relationship terms but in relationships in general. God will place those certain people in your life, that stand as stepping stools for you. God will love you through others, if you just open your heart to him. Last, God will always make sure that you have the ones you need around you, to truly feel his love. It's awesome.

50/365 Sunset

50 Pictures!!!!! I can't believe it. Anyways this was the sunset in Myrtle Beach, SC on February 19th, 2010. Sometimes I think this is God's way of showing us that everything is going to be ok. Tomorrow will be a better day.

So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself.

49/365 Jadon J

This is Jadon! I lovveeee him. He is such a Ham, and he is so funny. He calls me "Ma-Chellff". I had a good day today. I spent my day with Emily and then towards the end of the day, Jadon joined us. Jadon is Emily's nephew. He is the cutest thing. I had a really good day spending it with Emily. We laughed, we bonded, we cleaned, we worked and we laughed at each other some more. I love Emily, we have a love hate sister relationship. We make fun of each other, like sisters. Anyways so Emily had something on the floor and it made a mess in the back of work today and I said to Jadon "Look, Emily made a mess, go tell her she made a mess." At this point, Emily was in the front of Abiding Village, so Jadon stands in the doorway and yells "Emily, you made a mess!" It would of been one thing if Jadon said it once, but he didn't. He wouldn't let it go. He kept saying it and saying it. hahahah Good times!

48/365 Janay and I

This was Janay and I at Denny's, after the Ash Wednesday service (which was an awesome service by the way). There were A LOT more pictures on my phone from Denny's but this is just one of them. It was really late, but we had tons of fun, as always. Janay=My little sister. Love her.

PS - The start of the great 48!

45/365 Ashton

This picture is from lunch today. I went to lunch after church with some of my church family, in which you could not ask for better people. I love all of them soo much. It was me, Janay, Ari, Sarah, Ashton, Ricardo, Michelle and John. While we were waiting on our food, Ashton saw the bread once they brought it to the table and picked up the WHOLE entire thing, tried to dip the end in the little tiny cup of butter and then tried to eat it. Funniest thing ever. We are started laughing. I have truly been blessed with the people that He has put in my life. They make me smile even when I don't feel like it, they listen when I need them, and most of all they bring me closer to Him as we walk by faith together.

44/365 SNOW!

Last night, into this morning it snowed in Myrtle Beach, SC! Craziness, you should have seen everyone on the beach taking pictures this morning! I think there was a snowman made on every street corner in Myrtle Beach by this morning!

43/365 Sadie

A picture of my Sadie. The project 365 team sent out a "project challenge" this morning and the challenge was to take a picture of a loved one. I chose Sadie. I love her and she is sooo photogenic and adorable of course!!

42/365 Basketball

A basketball from class today. I taught my class at Abiding Village tonight and we started doing some Stomp related percussion stuff. It was a little rough tonight, but needless to say, I hope the kids still enjoyed it. They were off the wall today!!

41/365 Drum Pad

This is my drum pad. I just recently pulled it out to practice a bit and it has just reminded me to not only practice but it has reminded me of my music. It has brought me to reality of how much I have learned over the past couple years at Coastal. If you would have asked me 5 years ago what my plan was, I don't think any of this would have been on that list of things. I am so grateful for all of the people, relationships, music, experiences, opportunities, and memories that God has given me.

39/365 LOVE

This is the word "Love" and the world "Love" put into one. Love is right side up and Life is upside down. I figured out how to draw this and I even included a treble clef. ahh I love it.

38/365 AV Shirt

Quote
"Life beats down and crushes the SOUL, ART reminds you that you have one."

Pretty much my motto for life.

37/365 Kins and Ari

Kinsey and Ari, too cute. This was after our 2 games we played for game night. Ari was our little team helper and she was clearly exhausted! She is adorable. So good to see Kinsey too. She's in town for the next week :)

36/365 Ears

Today I got my ears pierced. I haven't had them pierced since I was really little. I got them done because I had a dream last night that I had my ears pierced again. This morning when I got up I was like, hmmm I'm going to go get my ears pierced...so I went. It was a good night...I had my ears pierced then I went and hung out with Staci and Brandon for the night. We sat and watched jeopardy and then Angels and Demons, great movie. I had a fairly good day. Had one class this morning and then after that was my depressing, discouraged mood. hah Then I finally got my passport in the mail for my DR trip when I ran home, so I had to go make a copy of it at the church. When I got to the church, I had the privilege to sit through two of the sermon preps. Both messages in the sermons have also been made clear to me during the week also. That's affirmation. I was moved and overwhelmed at the same time from His word. Sometimes we expect Him to lead us with His word, but really it's us that needs to follow and trust in him that he will get us through anything. He will not put us through any situation that he cannot help us get out of. Trust in him and his comfort of unconditional love.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Philippians 4:13

35/365 John

Coolest mentor ever. John came and taught my class at Abiding Village tonight and it was so cool. Cool for not only the kids, but me as well. He showed them all kinds of cool stuff to make "sounds". We did body percussion, we made made beats with basketballs and jammed on some buckets and trash cans. The kids asked him all kinds of questions from "Is your hair real?" to "How old are you?" to "We are going to be doing THAT?". Totally down to earth guy helping to minster kids through music. Very awesome experience, plus he IS a New Yorker. We interacted well, I felt my New York accent come out just a little hah.

34/365 HipHop Dance

This picture was from the 6-11 year old HipHop class at Abiding Village tonight taught by MaryJane. This wasn't the whole class. After they all learn the choreography, they take turns going up in groups to perform it. This happened to be the group of boys altogether dancing. This age group is pretty interesting to watch dance. They have so much energy and half the time they just go crazy. Boy those kids Looovveeeee some MaryJane though. She rocks, and she is definitely one of the most inspiring people to watch when she dances.

33/365 Paint

The Colors of Life. I painted today some more. I have realized I am into painting a lot more than I thought I was. I'm not very good at it but I do like it and I love art. Painting is a new thing I discovered recently, that I like to do. It takes me a while to feel comfortable with it but eventually I'm like "ok, this isn't THAT bad." Sometimes though, I hate my whole painting, and I just pour black paint on it. Jess gets a little upset when I do that. haha I am thankful for the opportunities that I have that allow me to do this. I do get a lot of different opportunities to experience things I wouldn't normally be exposed to. Today MaryJane hooked me up with the Myrtle Beach Performing Arts. I love that girl. I will be playing percussion for their dance recital on May 2nd. I am super excited. New opportunities, new experiences, new memories. What would life be without those things? I am grateful for everything God has given me in order to do the many things that have come into my life.

32/365 Cup

This was my sharpie art for the day! hah Everyone knows how much I loveeee sharpie art. Well I got bored at lunch and started to decorate my coke cup with the one sharpie I did have. Most of it was just thoughts on my mind like how I leave for the Dominican Republic in 39 days, and how awesome my friends are, and music, and how mad I am that Coastal changed from Pepsi products to Coke. (which means no Mt. Dew)
So I think that's everything.....oh wait....Chelle-Bug....that's my nick-name. Jessa gave it to me and now everyone at least calls me Chelle. I love her so much and I had such a good night with her tonight. She has taught me a lot but one thing for sure is that she has shown me true friendship. She has taught me that no matter what, you always have to be yourself, and sometimes.....just sometimes....you have to break out of your shell and just be free...... or maybe have 10 seconds of zaney. haha She has shown me bigger and better things also like how to overcome, and how to truly be a follower. Jesus is in her and she brings me closer to Him every time I am with her. I love our talks, laughs and time together always. I am blessed by her and I am truly grateful to have her in my life.
So that's the story of my life in a cup I guess....almost.
